About Ecoblogger

As I rapidly reach 50, I felt it was time to do something about following some of my interests in life.

The Ecoblogger

Ecoblogger at Waiheke

Since my early days of birdwatching in the Fens of England in the winter (brrr!)  I have always enjoyed being outdoors in nature, wildlife programmes on the television and I studied biological science at University.   My subsequent career didn’t continue down that pathway but I always have a pair of binoculars in the car.

A trip to India and other parts of Asia back in 1984 opened my eyes to the way other people survived and the conditions they lived in (not always horrible!).  I came back wanting to make a difference but never really did anything about it – may be this blog will be a stating point..

If  global warming is taking place and what is the best way of tackling it is much more debatable.  I have no doubt that “climate change” is taking place as it has throughout history and people may be displaced but I also believe that humans can adapt and will survive through the use of technology.

For the moment I am going to remain as anonymous as I can – but there is nothing sinister in this. I am not a member of any political party nor am I actively involved in any environmental group – though I am a paid up member of Forest and Bird!  .. and if you really want to know who I am, contact me through a comment and I will be in touch with you.
